If you are a researcher at Penn State and believe your research could be improved or accelerated with the help of software, please send an email to email@example.com.
The projects we select ideally meet the following criteria:
- Must be well-defined. It helps to be able to clearly define the problem to address in a few words.
- Must have a relatively clear sequence of goals for its life cycle. Have a simple idea that can be built upon, that you can expand in creative ways. The inaugural semester for your project may be the execution of that simple idea, but where we seek to maintain and extend our projects, it must have room to grow.
- Must be feasible with the use of software. If you do not come from a technical background, this is hard to know. However, it does play a part in our selection process. Don't let this discourage you from submitting your project to us, but know that it is a factor.
Also know that we have a limited number of projects we can tackle at a time. With this in mind, it helps if you or colleagues close to the project have some form of technical background as it relates to computers. This helps us in rigorously defining our approach, as well as in your own ability to meet the above criteria. It's not required, but it improves the quality of our work.
